The American Heartworm Society has created a video that describes heartworm disease and prevention.

 This is a very short 3 minute video, but is exceptional discussing all the aspects of heartworm disease. 

 We see about 20-24 cases of heartworm disease a year.  It is a very costly treatment and can take 3-4 months to complete.  We recommend heartworm prevention year-round for best protection.
